Position Summary:
As a Driver with Alpha Care Transit, you will be responsible for transporting passengers—primarily seniors and individuals with disabilities or medical needs—to and from their appointments, facilities, or residences. You play a vital role in maintaining our commitment to safety, punctuality, and respectful service.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a company vehicle to safely transport passengers on scheduled routes.
Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle when needed (wheelchair assistance may be required).
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and routine pre- and post-trip inspections.
Follow GPS and route instructions for timely pickups and drop-offs.
Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, caregivers, and facilities.
Maintain accurate trip logs, timesheets, and mileage reports.
Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly.
Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies.
Deliver compassionate and respectful service to all passengers.
Requirements:
Valid Washington driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must have at least three years of driving experience in the United States.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Previous professional driving or transportation experience preferred (NEMT, shuttle, paratransit, etc.).
Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical (if required).
Strong knowledge of local roads and neighborhoods.
Excellent time management and customer service skills.
Ability to operate the paratransit vehicle'd lift system and assist clients with boarding and exiting safely, as needed (training provided).
Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for route management and dispatch communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
CDL Driving License
CPR/First Aid Certification.
Experience working with elderly or medically vulnerable populations.
Knowledge of HIPAA or patient privacy practices.
